Maggie Bullock
Retiring from work and finding my escape from Sydney to Hobart in late 2018 is the best move I have ever made to this wonderful arty community.
Joining The Art Society of Tasmania and Colour Circle without delay offered me the opportunity to attend many workshops and term classes in watercolour, charcoal and mixed media.
EXPERIENCE:
2007 – 2008 Acrylic for Beginners with Gina Hayward, Oil with Tania and Pastel at Art On King, Newtown, Sydney
2015 – 2016 3 terms in Acrylic, Pastel and Watercolour at Jannali Community College with Sonja Karl
2015 - April 2 day Watercolour workshop and 1 Palette knife workshop at WEA, Sydney
2015 - July 2 day Mixed media workshop at EWART Gallery, Willoughby. Sydney
2020 Watercolour workshops with John Lovett and Tony White until Covid 19 struck.
During lockdown, Tony White's online tutorials kept me interested in developing my watercolour. It was not long before I found my individuality in inspiration from my garden and my love of painting roosters became a daily obsession in challenging myself.
2020 – Sept Lino carving 2 day work with Vicki Chapman at Lady Franklin Gallery led to enrolling in Denise Hallett's Printing Term 4 class at Colour Circle.
SOLO EXHIBITION:
2016 – July Hurstville Museum and Gallery, Sydney
AWARDS: 2017 1st Place Lane Cove Council Art Award 'Fish out of Water' Acrylic
2019 Highly Commended- Royal Hobart Show 'Yard Foreman' Watercolour
